STREATOR — A project to rehab a water main on the southside of Streator begins today. Illinois American Water officials say they will be performing a cured-in-place lining on the water mains along 12th, James, and Union Streets, along with Otter Creek Road. Officials say the $240,000 project will help provide a longer life expectancy to the water main, while enhancing water quality, water pressure, and fire protection to customers in the area. Officials say the project will close down one lane of traffic on 12th Street and it is expected to be complete by next Friday.
