PERU — A student at Parkside School was disciplined yesterday after a “look-a-like” weapon was brought to school. Peru Elementary Superintendent Mark Cross says throughout the entire situation, no students were in danger or threatened. Cross says the situation was isolated and dealt with immediately. The male student was taken into police custody, while school officials and Peru Police conducted the investigation. Cross wants to reassure parents that the safety of the students was “in no way compromised.”
