Traffic fatalities up late in the year

UNDATED — The Illinois Department of Transportation is reporting a higher count of traffic fatalities statewide, but mixed numbers locally through October. La Salle County has seen 13 fatalities so far this year from traffic incidents, where 19 fatalities were reported in 2014. Bureau County has reported seven fatalities this year, up from the 2014 total of four, and Putnam County has has one traffic fatality, where none were reported in 2014. Statewide, 835 fatalities have been reported, up 44 from this time last year.
