Princeton Police Chief

PRINCETON – Firefighters battled a blaze at a home in Princeton, where a stand off occurred on Friday. According Princeton Police Chief Tom Kammerer, at around 4:30 a.m. they were called to the area of First and Hudson Street in Princeton for an armed man. Police say they chased 47-year-old Eric Truedson into another home on the 600 block of north First Street where he reportedly barricaded himself for nine hours. Authorities say after unsuccessful negotiations, the house was set on fire, leaving authorities to believe it was Truedson. After the fire intensified, police say Truedson attempted to escape the residence. Truedson is reportedly in custody. He was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries. The state fire marshal was called to the scene to investigate the cause of the blaze. Truedson was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. The incident remains an ongoing investigation.
