SPRINGFIELD – Coronavirus continues to pick up steam in Illinois, with 1941 cases reported on Friday. That’s the most reported cases in one day since late May. The local area continues to see increases too, with 12 new cases reported in Bureau County. Statewide, 21 people lost their lives to the virus in the past 24 hours, with another death in DeKalb county, which makes 5 deaths in the county in the past 96 hours.
