IHSA suspends winter sports; hopes to resume in ’21

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois High School Association announced Tuesday that due to the new mitigation measures announced by Governor J.B. Pritzker that the winter sports season will be suspended.  They say they are optimistic that sports could resume next year for IHSA student-athletes.  The IHSA Board will meet tomorrow to continue planning potential sport and activity programs through the remainder of the school year.  Many area schools had previously announced that basketball was on hold due to the ongoing pandemic.
