SPRINGFIELD – Parts of the state of Illinois could be one step closer to allowing some indoor dining and other events after Governor J.B. Pritzker announced Wednesday that the regions who meet the metrics of COVID-19 control set by the Illinois Department of Public Health could leave Tier 3. All eleven regions in the state fell into the tougher restrictions in November of 2020. Beginning on January 15th, those regions that meet the qualifications could allow increased capacity at retail stores, gambling, and gatherings of 10 or fewer indoors or outdoors.
