Florida man asks police to check the authenticity of his meth

HERNANDO COUNTY, FL — The Hernando County Sherriff’s department was contacted by a Florida man asking them to come and check the authenticity of the meth he recently purchased at a local bar.  He said that he was a regular drug user and knew that the consistency wasn’t right and thought that he had been sold bath salts and wanted them to stop the bad person who sold it to him.  However, the man could not provide a name or contact information of the person who sold it to him.  The police did test the two baggies he had and it was in fact methamphetamine.  The man was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation after complaining of chest pain.  Once released he was brought to the Hernando County Detention Center where he was held on a $7,000 bond.
