The Reddick Mansion Association is hosting a Vintage Quilt Turn Down on Saturday, July 16th and Sunday, July 17th. The Vintage Quilt Turn Downs will be at 10am and 2pm on both days, in conjunction with the Illinois Valley Quilters Guild 2016 Quilt Show (happening at Festivities Unlimited the same weekend).
During the “Turn Down”, vintage quilts are stacked on a bed and as each quilt is “turned down” and displayed, the unique story of each quilt is told – who made it, when, where and for what reason. The fabrics, the stitching, the pattern and its history are also discussed.
Refreshments will be served after the quilt presentation and the cost is $5 per person and attendance is limited to 20 people per session in order to insure everyone is able to see the quilts. For more info, please call the Mansion at 815-433-6100. All money raised will be used for the maintenance and restoration of the Reddick Mansion.
