Marquette Academy Fine Arts Festival

March 13, 2016 @ 2:00 pm - March 16, 2016 @ 2:00 pm

Marquette Academy High School will hold its thirteenth fine arts festival on Wednesday, March 16th in Bader Gymnasium. A kick-off concert by “the other guys,” a men’s acapella comedy octet from the University of Illinois, will be performed on Sunday afternoon, March 13th at 2:00 as a fund-raiser for the festival. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for senior citizens and students, available from any Fine Arts Club member, in the main office or at the door.
Wednesday’s programs begin with the one-man play “Wild Bill Hickok,” written and performed by Ottawan Walt Willey, who acted on the television soap opera “All My Children” for twenty-five years. Hickok, born in Troy Grove, is one of the most famous historical figures to come out of LaSalle County with his wild west shows of the latter 1800’s.
Steve Sharp, local singer, songwriter and guitarist, and “The Dan Ladd Comedy Hypnosis Show” are scheduled on Wednesday afternoon. Student talent programs featuring Marquette Students sharing their God-given gifts of song, dance, instrumental music, drama, creative writing, etc. are scheduled in the morning and one to conclude the festival.
Family and friends are encouraged to attend the Sunday “other guys” concert and are welcome to attend any of the festival performances on Wednesday.
“Live a good life, you people!”
