Luminaria bags may be purchased now for the July 16 Upper Illinois Valley Relay for Life event to be held at Lake Mendota in Mendota.
Luminaria bags may be purchased in honor of or in memory of someone affected by cancer for $10/bag. You may decorate your bag yourself with pictures glitter, stickers or text about the person for whom the bag has been donated for or a member of the Luminaria Team will print names and other information requested by the donor on the bag. You do not have to be on a team to purchase a luminaria bag. It’s a wonderful way to honor and/or remember family members who have experienced cancer.
You may purchase luminaria bags at any time between now up until 8 pm the night of the event by calling Rita Borelli at 815-910-5093. Any questions may be directed to Rita as well.
The Luminaria ceremony begins at 9:30 pm the night of Relay. It is truly moving to see the Luminaria bags all lit up.
