Theatre fans will get a chance to meet the directors for Community Players of Streator’s 2019 season and learn more about how to get involved in the group’s upcoming 62nd season.
Community Players of Streator – best known as Engle Lane – will host a Meet the Directors event at 2 pm Sunday, February 17 in the Willliam C. Schiffbauer Center for the Performing Arts at Engle Lane Theatre, 1012 Columbus Road, Streator.
The directors of each production will be introduced and will provide an overview of their show, including ways for interested individuals to become involved both on and off stage. Following the presentations by the directors, those attending will have the opportunity to tour the state-of-the-art theatre and learn more about getting involved in the season.
“You don’t have to have any experience at all to be involved at Engle Lane,” said Joyce Garbs, Engle Lane’s 2019 production chairperson and board of directors’ vice-president. “Everyone has to start somewhere, and it is our hope that this event can help make taking that first step a little less intimidating for those just starting out.”
Season tickets are on sale for the 2019 season, starting at $60 for all six shows. Productions will include: The Marx Brothers “A Night in the Ukraine,” a musical comedy directed by Dan McKenzie May 19-25; “Losing Patients,” a comedy farce directed by Kathy Hepner and Lisa Gill June 9-15; “Mamma Mia,” a musical directed by Karen Leifheit; “Babes in Toyland,” youth musical directed by Marlee Reel; “Charley’s Aunt,” a comedy farce directed by Bill Jankowski September 8-14; and “Bright Star,” a musical drama directed by Samantha Farb October 6-12/
