Drug arrest on Interstate 80

LADD — A pair of suburban Chicago men were arrested over the weekend after authorities say they found drugs in the car. Illinois State Police say a trooper pulled over a vehicle on Interstate 80 eastbound near the Illinois Route 89 exit just before midnight yesterday, after they said the vehicle was driving under the minimum speed limit with hazard lights and swerving on the road. Authorities say 22-year old Maurice Banks admitted to the trooper he smoked marijuana prior to driving. Through a search, authorities say they found several bags of marijuana ready to distribute on the passenger, 21-year old Devante Banks. Both were taken to the Bureau County Jail, Maurice Banks charged with DUI, and Devante Banks charged with delivery of marijuana.
