Streator’s 3rd Annual Overdose Awareness Memorial Walk

August 20, 2016

Streator’s third annual Overdose Awareness Memorial Walk will be held on Saturday, August 20th.  This walk, sponsored by Dusty Roads, brings awareness to the drug epidemic that is invading our town and remembers our loved ones who have been lost to drug overdoses.
The Overdose Awareness Walk raises funds for Dusty Roads, a non-profit organization whose mission is helping addicts and their families in Streator and surrounding communities by providing the necessary resources to aid in recovery.  Since January of 2015, Dusty Roads has placed over 200 addicts in treatment.  We offer placement, transportation, help with paying for medications, and offer support groups for both addicts and their families, among other things.
Your tax deductible donation for this year’s Overdose Awareness Memorial Walk would be greatly appreciated and would help Dusty Roads to continue to fight against addiction and help to save the lives of addicts who want another chance at life.  All activities at the walk are free to participants.  This year we will have line up of speakers in recovery, a live band, petting zoo, pony rides, a magician, children’s games and a balloon artist.  So many children suffer because addiction has touched their life that we like to make it a family day.
Thank you in advance for any donation you are able to make toward helping us in our fight against addiction in our communities.  Please call 815-510-0015 and your donation can be picked up or you can mail it to:
