Woman robbed in Peru Mall parking lot

PERU — Police are on the lookout for man who robbed a woman in the Peru Mall parking lot yesterday evening. Peru Police say a woman and her husband were walking to their car on the east side of the mall last night just before 9 PM, when a man came up behind the woman and grabbed her purse. Police say she tried to fight off the man, but he was able to get the purse and took off on foot. Authorities say the husband pursued the man until he got into an orange or red pickup truck with another man, and drove off. Authorities describe the man as an African-American around 30 years old, 5-foot-10, slim build, last wearing a black hoodie and pants. Police are looking at video footage of the incident to get more details. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Peru Police.
