IVCC ending relationship with ISBDC

OGLESBY — Illinois Valley Community College is ending a long relationship with the group that assists small businesses in the area. At last night’s board meeting, board members voted to end the 30-plus year relationship with the Illinois Small Business Development Center, located at the college. IVCC President Dr. Jerry Corcoran said with the uncertainty of state funding, the college has to focus on their limited resources on credit-generating programs. The ISBDC is run through the Illinois Department of Commerce, and it provides information, confidential business guidance, training and other resources to start-up and existing small businesses.
