Morning snow leads to numerous accidents

UNDATED — Morning snows yesterday led to numerous accidents throughout the area. A morning rollover accident on Interstate 80 between Ladd and Peru slowed traffic down in both directions. The driver of the pick-up truck had to be extricated from his vehicle and had minor injuries. Other accidents were reported on Illinois Route 251 between Peru and Oglesby, where a multi-vehicle accident took place around 8:30 AM. Some minor accidents were also reported in the curves of US Route 6 in Spring Valley and on the hill of Illinois Route 170 in Utica. There were several injuries reported in the accidents, but none were life-threatening.
