Oglesby’s newly hired police chief says city needs to concentrate on making it a better place to live

OGLESBY – The city of Oglesby’s future police chief, Scott Pavlock is backing down from the position. In a letter to the city clerk, Pavlock says the former chief was a good man who was publicly dishonored. Pavlock also expressed his challenge finding a home within the city and how it wasn’t a requirement until later. Mayor Dom Rivara says he read the letter and though disappointed, he understands where Pavlock is coming from.  Jim Knoblauch’s retirement is effective May 1st.
