MCNABB – A Spring Valley man is dead after a crash on Wednesday near the community of McNabb. According to the Putnam County Death Investigator, Bob Cofoid, said that 81-year-old Henry “Hank” S. Bland was traveling north on Illinois Route 89 when for unknown reasons he entered the southbound lanes and struck a semi-tractor-trailer head on. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office and the Illinois State Police Reconstruction Units.
