Streator’s firemen train at new burn building

Captain Ryan Reynolds instructing on R.I.T training

STREATOR –  Streator’s firemen are utilizing their new training facility this week. On Monday morning, firemen gathered at the facility located on West 10th Street to practice rapid intervention, where a team of two or more firefighters search and rescue other crew members in distress. Lt. and Media Coordinator Byran Park says firefighters go through rapid intervention and mayday training monthly. The team will be trained on operating in smoke as well this week. The department conducted their first simulated fire evolution last month.
