Warming centers announced in Streator

STREATOR – The Streator Fire Department established warming centers for expected record breaking cold weather. The Streator Salvation Army will be open to anyone needing to find warmth from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. After 9 p.m. residents are advised to call the fire department to be directed to the next open center. Media Relations Coordinator Bryan Park says Central Church and New Beginnings Baptist Church have also agreed to help in case of need. New Beginnings will be opening their fellowship hall at the corner of Bridge and Park Streets on Wednesday morning at 6am. No specific hours will be available for the churches, however Park says you can contact the fire department to make arrangements. At anytime residents can contact the Streator FD for more information.
