WATERMAN – A crash between a van and a UTV Tuesday afternoon seriously injured a woman from Waterman. In a release by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s office, they say that around 2 p.m. a van traveling southbound near the 11000 block of Waterman Road struck a UTV that allegedly entered the roadway. The van driver,29-year-old Abigail L. Flores of Waterman, said she was unable to avoid colliding with a John Deere Gator being driven by 33-year-old Amber N. Barshinger. Barshinger was ejected from the UTV in the crash and was transported via helicopter from the scene to the hospital. The incident remains under investigation.
