HENNEPIN – Phone records for a Standard man was supposed to be the strongest piece of evidence for the defense in the murder trial of Clifford Andersen, however he was found guilty of murdering and burying his sister in law Friday.
Defense Attorney Rob Parker strongly believed phone calls established Andersen’s alibi where he was allegedly at a restaurant at the time of Deborah Dewey’s disappearance. Forensics also failed to show Andersen’s DNA on various pieces of evidence.
Andersen’s sentencing hearing will be nearly 2 years to the date of Dewey’s murder on August 23rd at the Putnam County Courthouse.
