STREATOR – An early Friday morning fire filled a single family home with smoke in Streator. Working alarms in the home woke the residents to the danger as smoke filled the 2-story dwelling in the 500 block of South Vermillion Street. The Streator Fire Department was called after 3 AM and the fire was confined to the basement with minimal water and smoke damage. No injuries were reported and the fire was contained in less than 10 minutes.
