OMAHA – A Craigslist post asked for someone to help with a sick family member, cleaning their home and running errands. One of the errands was to go to the bank and withdraw money for medical bills. The person who placed the ad would be on the phone with the person they “hired” and instructed them to hand the phone over to the bank teller. The “hired” person was under the assumption that the person on the phone would give permission for the “hired” person to withdraw money. However, the conversation on the phone was them threatening the bank teller and demanding money. The “hired” person was then instructed to deposit the money into a Bitcoin ATM.
