Illinois Valley Symphony Orchestra announces Junior and Senior winners of the Concerto Competition

The Illinois Symphony Orchestra held its annual Concerto Competition this weekend.  The Junior Division Winner was Jadyn Leone, and the Senior Division Winner was Emily Kmetz.  Both local vocalists, Leone attends Peru Catholic and Kmetz attends LP High School.  Both are students of voice lesson instructor Jenilynn Roether. Leone and Kmetz will both perform with the Illinois Valley Symphony Orchestra on March 11th at 7:00 pm at the Ottawa High School Auditorium.  Tickets are available online at ivso.org or at the door, $20 for adults, $5 for college students, and admission is free for students K-12.
Honorable mentions include Chloe Carmona on violin in the Junior Division, while the senior division includes Will Marshall on clarinet, Gabrielle Mosley on flute, and Grace Eutitus on trumpet.  There will be an honors recital showcase on February 3rd at 6:00 pm at the Westclox Fine Arts Factory which is open to the public.
