AMBOY – One individual is dead and another is injured after an incident Sunday morning in Lee County. Authorities were called to an address in Amboy in response to a neighbor asking for help. Lee County Sheriff John C. Simonton stated in a press release Monday that 21-year-old Garrett R. Hicks was found deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. A 19-year-old woman was taken from the scene to a Rockford Hospital with an undisclosed injury. Lee County Detectives were called to the scene to continue the investigation. An inquest is being scheduled by the Lee County Coroner’s Office.
