County unemployment slightly down during July
LASALLE – County unemployment rates reduced during the month of July according to the Illinois Department of Employment Security. LaSalle County remains the highest in unemployment locally at 5.8%, but down compared to 6.5% last month.
Bird tests positive for West Nile in LaSalle County
OTTAWA – The LaSalle County Health Department confirmed that a crow from Utica tested positive for West Nile virus. The bird was collected and tested on August 26. Mosquitoes in Ottawa tested positive earlier in the week.
