

OGLESBY – Creativity fueled Illinois Valley Community College’s cafeteria for their 15th Annual Edible Car Contest on Wednesday. In honor of National Engineering Week, local schools are invited to IVCC annually, showcasing their inventiveness through cars made of food. The edible contraptions are judged by appearance, with the ultimate challenge of its ability to race down a ramp. Putnam County Junior High, LaSalle-Peru High School and Depue High School took home the title for the fastest car, a first time ever three-way tie. Coordinator and Computer Aided Design Instructor Dorene Data, says its a surprise every year.
