STREATOR – Streator High School’s Board approved changes to auditorium renovation plans. In Tuesday’s meeting, Streator High School’s architect, Green Associates, presented six recommendations that would reduce costs of renovations and revisions to the auditoriums lower level. Members approved eliminating two rear rows of ceiling clouds, reducing the number of layers of drywall to cheek walls, eliminating mechanical screens, simplifying tile patterns in lobby restrooms, and the elimination of lower level switches of power and AV ports. The board also agreed to reuse the schools existing AV projector. The total savings of the reductions amount to nearly $120,000. Revision to the auditoriums lower level include two new restrooms, doors, lighting, lift access and air conditioning. The lower level additions estimated at nearly $200,000 dollars, with reductions would now cost slightly under $77,000.
