Streator’s council to discuss hiring a city manager

STREATOR – A city manager candidate for Streator has verbally accepted an offer, according to Mayor Jimmie Lansford. A meeting is scheduled for Thursday evening to discuss the potential hiring of the individual. Mayor Lansford says he will ask council for authorization to sign the agreement between the city and the prospect. He says he feels confident that council will reach an agreement to hire the city’s next manager. Former City Manager Scot Wrighton resigned in March to take a position in Decatur, Il. Currently, City Engineer Jeremy Palm has upheld the position until the appointment of an official manager.
