
STREATOR – Foreign Services Group, LTD opened up the Sherman School in Streator Tuesday, to present plans to use the institution for exchange students. Yang Hong, executive director of Beijing Service Bureau for Diplomatic Missions, presented the project that would ultimately bring 400 Chinese exchange students to Streator in the long run. Hong says exchange students will be allowed to study at Streator High School for up to one year, or attend Illinois Valley Community for a maximum of 2 years, based on their level of education and fluency in English. Looking ahead to the future, Foreign Services, plans on adding a dormitory for both students and teachers, east of Sherman School.
