Seneca officers respond to shots fired, “possible hostage situation”

SENECA — A Seneca man was arrested after he allegedly fired shots in what authorities are calling a “possible hostage situation” yesterday in Seneca. Seneca Police say they responded to a home on North Main Street around 5 PM, where all the occupants of the home were outside while 28-year old Jeremy Hahn remained in the house. Authorities say after they attempted to contact Hahn, they entered the residence and Hahn had left. Police say upon searching the home, they found a magnum, a small handgun, an AR-15, along with a couple of bags and a box of cartridges for the weapons. Authorities say Hahn returned to the home while police were still on scene investigating, and was subsequently arrested. Hahn was taken to the La Salle County Jail, charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and possession of a weapon without a FOID card. His bond has yet to be set.
