Teen killed in two-vehicle crash

LA SALLE COUNTY — A Sandwich teen was killed in a two-vehicle accident yesterday between Sheridan and Norway in northeastern La Salle County. La Salle County Sheriff’s deputies say they responded to the incident just before 4 PM yesterday on US Route 52 at East 2603rd Road. That’s where deputies say 66-year old Sarah Coleman of Mendota was westbound on US 52 in her Jeep, when a vehicle southbound on East 2603rd Road, driven by the Sandwich teen, failed to stop at the intersection and was struck by Coleman’s vehicle. Authorities say both drivers were taken to Saint Elizabeth’s in Ottawa, where the teen was later pronounced dead. Coleman’s injuries are said not to be life threatening.
