STREATOR — The investigation of a murder of a Streator boy from 2003 continues to this day, 13 years after the event took place. Yesterday marked the day that 7-year old Dalton Mesarchik went reported missing on March 26th, 2003 and was found in the Vermilion River the next day. The Illinois State Police in Pontiac say no new leads or evidence has been found about the murder, but the ISP continues the investigation at a high priority. The state police formed the Dalton Mesarchik Task Force which includes the work of several departments locally and state-wide. A $50,000 reward is still out for information that may lead to Mesarchik’s killer.
