Illinois American Water acquires new districts

STREATOR — Residents south of Streator will be recieving their water services through a new company. Illinois American Water, who serves Streator, has acquired the Dana/Long Point/Reading/Ancona Water District. Officials say the water district ceased last April and IAW was chosen to take it over. The Illinois Commerce Commission recently approved the $1.1 million acquisition in December and the sale closed yesterday between IAW and the former water district. The change affects 150 customers, who should see their water bills decrease to $45 a month, and will be incorporated with the Streator Water District.
