HAMPSHIRE, DE KALB COUNTY — Two people were arrested following an investigation of multiple “smash and grabs” in northern Illinois. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s office says they arrested 52-year old Tammy Sanders along with Randy Sanders at a motel in Hampshire after authorities received information from La Salle County Sheriff’s office. Authorities say both were suspected in the smash and grab of a BP station in Shabbona last Thursday. Tammy Sanders was charged with burglary and criminal damage to property and taken to the DeKalb County Jail, her bond has yet to be set.
Authorities say Randy Sanders will face the same charges in DeKalb County, and also had warrants out for burglary in Winnebago County, burglary and theft in Lee County, and domestic battery by Rockford Police. He was also arrested on three outstanding warrants from Kane County.
