STREATOR – The city of Streator’s five year road plan is updated, featuring dozens of streets that are scheduled for fixing. City Engineer Jeremy Palm says changes were made to the program based on pavement condition, and budget constraints. Due to availability of funds left over from a previous projects, the city is able to bump the 200 through 300 blocks of W Wilson street from 2022 to next year as well as the 100 through 500 blocks of Spring Street. The 100 and 200 block alleys on LaSalle Street moved up to the 2021 budget, with North Illinois, Morrell and Godfrey Streets moving up to 2022 instead of 2023. Palm says through the state’s motor fuel tax, the city will receive 16 to $20,000 more a month, or roughly $180,000 a year.
