OTTAWA — Peru Police continue their drug crackdown through another arrest today. Chief Doug Bernabei says they, along with Ottawa and Illinois State Police, served an arrest warrant on 30-year old Sharon Verucchi at a residence in the 800-block of Hitt Street around noon today in Ottawa. Authorities say Verucchi is alleged to have delivered heroin to undercover officers in Peru on past occasions. Verucchi was taken to the La Salle County Jail, held on a $500,000 bond. Bernabei says this is the sixth drug arrest the department has made over the past five weeks.
