DEKALB – A federal grant has been awarded to Northern Illinois University to help respond to crimes of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking. The Justice Department’s Office on Violence Against Women announced that 57 schools will receive a total of $18 million dollars. The grant will make possible a range of services, including specialized training for campus law enforcement, healthcare providers, university personnel and others who are often first responders.
