LSU claims college football title

(AP) — Clemson got off to a good start, but it was LSU that had a great finish as the top-ranked Tigers stormed back to win the NCAA national football championship last night. Leading the way was Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow. He threw five touchdown passes — and ran for another score in LSU’s 42-25 victory over Clemson in New Orleans. The five touchdown tosses and 463 yards total passing by Burrow are the most for a BCS or College Football Playoff title game — as are his six total touchdowns.
