PERU – The Illinois Valley Coal Miners Rugby Team was applauded at Monday night’s Peru City Council Meeting, after winning 12 and under State Rugby Tournament. Coach Fran Baker, who expressed interest in starting a team back in October, explained that the team only lost one game during the entire season. He also stated that he was proud of the work the boys had put in during their first rugby season.
