HENNEPIN- Closing statements were heard by prosecution and defense for the murder of Deborah Dewey at the Putnam County Courthouse, Friday. Clifford Andersen is accused of the concealment and murder of his sister in law.
The prosecution used circumstantial evidence as their strongest points in statements given by Putnam County Attorney Christina Mennie, also noting how concealment of homicide and murder are linked together in this case.
Prosecution reiterated to the juror that the defendant would have been the only person to have gotten the victim to the house where she was murdered, being the caretaker of the property.
They called the victim, Andersen’s golden goose when it came to her finances. The defense striked back in their closing statements using logistics and forensics as their main argument. Defense Attorney Rob Parker reminded the jury of no fingerprints or DNA on various pieces of evidence.
