Free Lunch Program in Streator

The Free Lunch Program sponsored by the Deacons of Park Church and the Hardscrabble Lions Club is held the 2nd Saturday of each month at Park Place, 406 E. Hickory Street, Streator.  Serving is from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.   On Saturday, March 9th, the meal will be hosted by PEO IC with the following menu:   Lasagna Salad Bread Desserts Beverage     The meal is free and everyone is invited to attend.     (Laura Bradley 257-9318)

Serena United Methodist Church Pork Chop Supper

  There will be a drive-through Pork Chop  (or Hot Dog) Supper on Saturday, November 14th from 4-6 p.m. at the Serena United Methodist Church, 2259 E. US Rt. 52 in Serena.  The food will be furnished by 5B’s BBQ catering of Waterman. Fiddlerock Free Concert

Illinois Valley Youth Symphony and the Illinois Valley Symphony Orchestra are bring Fiddlerock, a free concert on Saturday, October 10th. Bring lawn chairs and enjoy a free live concert at the Maud Powell Statue Plaza at Downtown Peru starting at 6pm. There will  be original arrangements, as well as violin covers of rock, pop, dubstep, and electronica favorites.

Party for a Cause – Benefit for John Wood

John Wood was in a motorcycle accident on August 6th and was told that he will likely never walk again.His family and friends are holding a benefit on October 10th at the Rockford Oddfellow’s Lodge in Rockford. There will be both inside and outside activities, with masks required inside. The benefit is from 5p-11p.
