According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, 53% of opiates are given by, bought from or taken from a friend or relative. Help us protect our communities by cleaning out your medicine cabinet!
Join the Live Drug Free Action Team of Live Well Streator in Streator City Park on Saturday, April 27, National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, to properly dispose of unwanted or expired prescription and over-the-counter drugs. A drive-thru disposal will be available on the 200 block of North Park Street in Streator from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Labels on packages need to either be removed or personal information should be blacked out.
Medications that are flushed down the toilet or thrown away can contaminate our water supplies and environment. Proper disposal of unused drugs saves lives and protects the environment.
