CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago Police shot a 29-year-old man who opened fire on officers shortly after a traffic stop. Police say the man whose name has not been released was a passenger in a car that officers had pulled over Monday night in the Homan Square neighborhood on the city’s West Side when he jumped out and ran off. Police say he was shot after he turned and fired at officers. The man was taken to an area hospital but his condition is unknown. Police also say that as the man was running he threw three handguns to the ground, all of which were recovered by officers.
