Son of Seneca Police Chief Found Dead in River

SENECA -The son of the police chief of Seneca has apparently drowned in the Illinois River. In a release by the Grundy County Coroner’s Office, a call came in Saturday afternoon for a person in the water near the Seneca boat ramp. Around 4:30 p.m. a body was recovered and identified as 29-year-old George F. Lamboley. Coroner Callahan indicated that no boat was involved and an autopsy is scheduled Sunday. The victim was the son Seneca Police Chief George Lamboley. The matter is under investigation by the Grundy County Coroner’s office and the Grundy Sheriff’s Department.
