Discovery of hundreds of bags of heroin lead to arrest

FLANAGAN — A Flanagan couple were arrested earlier this week after a drug investigation revealed hundreds of bags of heroin in their home. The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office says their drug unit executed a search warrant of a home in Flanagan on Wednesday night in the 100-block of Harrison Street. Authorities say during the search, they found over 500 bags of heroin, along with a small amount of cannabis and other drug-related items. Authorities arrested 37-year old James Blankenbeckler and his wife, 32-year old Beth Blankenbeckler and charged them with unlawful possession of a controlled substance. As of yesterday, James was out of jail on bond, however Beth remains in the Livingston County Jail.
